I haven't posted all week. Not really anyway.
Terms end this weekend. Which means teacher's gypping us of our last week and making everything due last weekend so they have more time to grade. Also means nothing to do so I've been living it up. The weekend consisted of a quick run to see Tokyo Drift. It was much better then I expected. Nothing to write home about, but it was a fun movie. I also found the samurai subplot that popped up two or three times in the movie nice and inspiring. (Kinda wondering if this subplot was intentional; Guess I just can't give the makers enough credit.)
New car radio was delivered and very quickly installed. It's really nice, sounds great and well gotta love a radio that can play mp3's directly off the SD card sitting in my PDA.
Yesterday on a quick notion we decided to see "Superman Returns." I liked it. Not something I wanna see more then once every few years, but I am like that with all the Superman movies. Still a few interesting twists, amazing actors ... and good to see the Daily Star Planet back again. Only slight dissappointment is that, as I found out later, Perry was originally supposed to be played by Hugh Laurie. "Great Ceaser's Ghost, or something obnoxious like that."
Gonna take the nephews and neice to "Cars" Tomorrow for Canada Day. YAY. I got Monday of, prolly gonna pull of a half day on Tuesday. Oh yeah. Race tomorrow, so we'll have to go the long way around .. fun fun. Will try to get some pics and post tomrrow.
OK, oldest thing I own. Actually two things. A Japanese fan, and a one jewel encrusted chopstick. Lost the second of the pair in Crystal City at Otakon 01, I believe.
I received them on my first birthday so ... they are coming up on 26 years old. They were from Japanese business associates of my father, a traditional first birthday gift.
I continued the tradition with my niece by giving her a pair of chopsticks, symbolizing prosperity and wishes of no hunger in her life. Wrapped in a furoski with a design for good fortune. Yeah, I'm a geek.
